Interested in Joining?

Do you, or did you, play a musical instrument? Has it been too long in its case? Fancy playing with the RPO? (Not quite up to the Royal Philharmonic, but OK?). Players, age range 20 to 80, fall into three categories:

♪ Those who started playing in their teens, before work forced a break
♪ Competent players on one instrument, but who have a second to develop
♪ Some have taken to music later on in life – this is their first experience

There are no auditions but Grade 4 standard or or above is a suggested benchmark. Most importantly – there’s no blame for wrong notes, and hardly any cost with annual subs only £35! Newcomers are welcome to come along to a couple of rehearsals to observe or play and see how they get on before committing or joining.

Most sections and instruments are well-represented, but newcomers are still always welcome. At present we would be particularly keen to hear from players of the:

♪ Double Bass
♪ Oboe
♪ Bassoon
♪ Harp
